Voyager-L Information

Voyager-L is the official list of the Voyager User's Group.  There are nearly 2,000 participants on the list from all over the world.

Recently, the list became a "closed" list; that is, its membership is only composed of current Customer's of Endeavor or those who have signed letter's of intention.  Non-Members were removed from the list.  This action was taken by the User's Group Executive Board to remove roadblocks to Endeavor's participation on the list.

In May, 1997 the list moved to Shippensburg University, where it is now.  The site runs on the Keystone Library Network's Hub at Shippensburg.  The list and its software systems are managed by the KLN Hub Adminstration Team at Shippensburg University.

The Voyager-L website underwent a major reengineering in March, 1999.  The new website is a creation of Tom Briggs.  The software is a PERL/DBI based front-end to a MySQL database of Voyager-L messages.  Historical messages (pre May-1997) were provided by Wally at GMU (thanks! Wally).  The new software is supposed to replace the older HyperMail software which, well, just didn't do an adequate job.
